DJ Blend has been playing professionally from the tender age of 15 in his hometown of Bournemouth, maintaining a residency at DNA Bar for 5 years and hosting the most successful local R&B night for the last 3. Blend has also graced the decks at all other respectable venues in Bournemouth such as Elements, K Bar, Bliss, and where it all started Alcatraz Club.

Having mixed a variety of genre’s in the past, the choice to keep to one style came as he listened evermore to Radio 1’s sister “1xtra” which in his eyes would bless the digital airwaves playing ‘Black Urban Music 24/7’ and the decision was made.

His second residency came after changing his event at Alcatraz Club and became recognised around town as a respectable young DJ with great talent. Before long the newly refurbished DNA Bar quickly snapped him up as their warm up DJ every Friday and Saturday and within the first week, it was all to clear that he’s mixing ability crowd pleasing skills were far better then the main resident and he was given an opportunity to run his own event, and this was the birth of Flaunt!

In 2006 Blend seized the chance to go international after sending off demo’s to bars in Ayia Napa and receiving a great deal of interest, and after only a few weeks employment at Jurassic Bar he found him self with the opportunity to play at the largest club in country, The Castle Club.2006 saw Blend keep 1000’s dancing well past close each and every week alongside guest DJ’s such as Ras Kwame (BBC Radio 1), and G Child (BBC Radio 1Xtra). The end of 2006 saw James return to Bournemouth with more bookings than he could imagine. His residency on Friday nights at DNA Bar relaunched as he gave the punters a look at how things were done in Ayia Napa.
